Connor Hellebuyck put on a performance for the ages in the 2026 Olympic gold medal game against Canada.

He denied McDavid on a breakaway, stopped Celebrini in the third, stood tall through a 5-on-3, and made what teammates are calling the save of the game — a behind-the-back paddle save on Devon Toews with an open net staring back at him.

Matthew Tkachuk said it will go down as one of the best goaltending performances of all time. Martin Brodeur called him the difference. The game does not go to overtime without him.
