Stop It Goaltending Leadership Week
Stop It Goaltending is excited to offer a new program this summer to be held June 28th through July 1st at Phillips Andover Academy. We are very fortunate to have some of the top college goalies in the country as summer instructors. Not only are they talented athletes but they are also quality individuals who are extremely passionate about the game of hockey and the position of goaltender.
This new program matches up youth goalies with our college instructors with a personal approach to instruction. The student/staff ratio is one instructor for every two
goalies. The four day on-ice program will be broken down into eight on-ice segments. Goalies will receive instruction on each segment by one of the college goalies, allowing them substantial time to get to know one another. Off the ice, goalies will participate in team building exercises with their college instructors as mentors, giving them the ability to interact off the ice as well as on the ice with each other. At the conclusion of the day, the college goalies then take the ice for their workout and the young goalies can watch their instructors train.
The goal of the week is to create a true bond between members of the fraternity of goalies and for the college instructors to serve as positive role models and mentors for the young goalies. Instruction will consists of 2.5 hours a day on the ice and 2.5 hours a day of off-ice activities and is open to Squirt, Peewee and Bantam goalies of all levels. The true success of the program will consist of the lasting, positive impression the college instructors will leave of the young goalies.
